Kansai Wire Netting is responsible not only for design and drafting but also for research and development.
I am currently in charge of three major tasks. The first is the design and drafting of conveyor belts. In response to customer requests and issues, we design and draw optimal belts and hand them over to factories and cooperating companies that manufacture them. Next, in the inspection and construction of conveyor belts, we check the belts and main parts used by customers, repair and replace parts as necessary. Finally, we are conducting research and development to enhance the value of our products by developing lighter and longer-lasting conveyor belts using 3DCAD.
Conveyor belts are not first seen in everyday life, but products manufactured using conveyor belts are only familiar to our lives. In addition, since there are many major and well-known companies, I think that the unique charm of this job is that you can feel the high level of social contribution. Also, when you go to the site where conveyor belts are active, you can see the process of creating various products, and seeing them is one of the pleasures of work.
We value communication with our customers the more difficult work time.
I was studying chemistry at university and wanted to get a technical job, but I thought it would be good to communicate with customers and reflect it in manufacturing rather than just research, so I decided to join Kansai Wire Netting because I knew that it would be possible to achieve that. It was still an impressive job, and I had to replace a large belt that I had never handled before, so I struggled with the amount of work, but I remember that I managed to finish it while consulting with customers and sales representatives. I think we will continue to encounter difficult tasks in the future, but in such a case, we value communication with our customers and hope to solve issues together.
In addition, in order to improve my skills as a technical officer, I would like to deepen my knowledge of 3DCAD and structural analysis programs used in research and development. And eventually, I would like to develop a conveyor belt like never before with my own hands.
Even though my specialty is different, learning from my student days is useful for work.
When I was a student, I was a major in chemistry, and I have never specialized in the fields of machinery and physics that I currently work at. However, for example, how to use spreadsheet software to compile experimental data, how to create sentences that were well instructed when writing papers, and mathematical knowledge when requiring highly difficult calculations, there are many points that are useful for my current job, and I am glad I studied well. In addition, some of our customers are chemical companies, and it is very helpful to be able to communicate smoothly because they have basic knowledge.
