Alloy that combines durability and magnetism is now available!
Durmalloy

What kind of product?

Newly added steel type to KMG mesh developed as a countermeasure against foreign particle contamination. In the past, 110mesh was the weaving limit for magnetic materials, but now it can be up to about 400mesh.

What's features?

・High strength and durability
・Because it is magnetic, it can be collected with magnets.
・Extremely high corrosion resitance to stress corrosion cracking.

What is actual effect!

High durability proven by tensile test

We conducted tensile test to compare with the existing SUS 304 and KNM21 products, and both warp and weft showed high durability in Durmalloy.

Low wear reduction rate

Using vibratory barrels and whetstones(MORP x 15.15kg, MT15 x 10.45kg), the test piece (fixed to a SUS plate of 50 x 50 x t1.5 mm) was polished for about 8 hours, and the wear reduction rate in Durmalloy was low.

Strong against repeated bending and stretching

As a result of measuring the number of damages by applying a load of 2 kgf to the test piece (12 x 150 mm) and repeatedly bending one end at -45 °to + 45 °, Durmalloy survived up to about 100 times.

High magnetic attraction

The meximum distance the test piece(5 x 5 mm) is attracted to a magent( NEMAX 48BH)was measured. KNM21 is our magnetic material developed prior to Durmalloy. Durmalloy has strong magnetism close to KNM21.

Tough in corrosion environment

The time when cracks occured was obtained under the tension in corrosive environment. Depending on the conditions, Durmalloy is very resistant to stress corrosion cracks.
